The volume of tephra is calculated as freshly fallen. This eruption was silicic, although there are no known deposits outside of Iceland. Although this was not a large eruption, tephra was carried to the west and south-west over inhabited areas. There appears to have been a high mortality rate of livestock due to fluorosis.
